Now here’s the thing. I saw Meteor Man in the theatres when I was younger. And I’ve always always thought Robert Townsend was great. I even watched his crappy show on the WB and laughed.
So I was thinking. Should I revisit this movie? Really see if it’s worth checking out? I dunno. Maybe it’s better to leave this memory as it is in all it’s niceness and not fuck wit it. However. Kudos to Robert Townsend for giving the Black Community the superhero they deserve. That isn’t Blank Man.
Huh. I never saw this movie but I did see Blank Man when I was a kid, and I remember loving the crap out of it. I was also a big fan of the Wayans Brothers and I loved In Living Color, which is odd because that show started when I was three.
As I got older I realized the Wayans Brothers make tragically horrible movies. On top of that nobody I’ve met, in person or on the internet, has had anything good to say about Blank Man. It even has a 13% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.3 on IMDB (0.2 lower than Meteor Man). Looking back, everything about it seems retarded.
But for whatever reason I still have a nostalgic soft spot for it. I know if I ever saw it again I’d probably vomit out my eye sockets, so I’m willing to leave it as a pleasant memory and just move on.
